Los Torpedos

The energy of the dancefloor with the identity and spontaneity of a live performance.

Los Torpedos is an independent alternative electronic music project based in Santa Catarina, Brazil.
Its sole member, Lucas, is originally from Rio Grande do Sul. With years of experience as a multi-instrumentalist and composer and a deep passion for music, he explored everything from progressive rock to samba, gathering experiences that eventually led him to become an electronic music producer after his first contact with the Santa Catarina electronic music scene.
Los Torpedos now presents a live act combining live performance on multiple instruments, vocals, DJing, and the manipulation of samplers and synthesizers. This hybrid approach — somewhere between a one-man band and a live electronic performance — is documented through the Los Torpedos Soundsystem series, currently featuring four episodes available on YouTube and SoundCloud, offering a broader view into the project's artistic universe.
Today, the project moves between influences from indie and alternative rock, including Tame Impala, Gorillaz, and Empire of the Sun, incorporating elements of Nu Disco, Synthwave, UK Garage, Techno, and Drum and Bass, with Daft Punk, Justice, Oliver, Monolink, Burial, and Fred again.. among its main references.
Its most prominent release is the single Kids Show, released in January 2026. The project has since released five additional singles and is preparing to release its debut album, The Place I'll Show, later this year.

Have you ever tried listening closely to the voice inside your head? I bet you’ll notice that it no longer sounds like the voice of a child.
Your favorite TV show is no longer on. The promises of a better world were never fulfilled. Your old video game no longer works. Contradictions persist and, every Monday, life begins again.
Without ceremony, clichés repeat themselves, expectations fall short, and the familiar starts to sound faded — endless novelties, yet memories that insist on returning.
Some of them, however, better than others: those days and nights that refused the ordinary. When there was excitement, everything seemed to gain color, and a promise felt fulfilled.
But nostalgia, longing, and sentimentality are forces that pull us toward the past. The opposite is also true: anxiety, unrestrained optimism, and accelerationism push us toward an uncertain future. And when either one takes over, reality becomes distorted.
It is then up to the artist to create a perfect moment: an amalgamation in time, capable of balancing our longing for the past with our hopes for the future. A place where stories can be relived while new memories are projected. A safe place in time, almost static.
And in this resulting now, what remains is what matters most in life and in art: not being afraid of the emotions of the present.
This vision of art — and of life — is what inspires Los Torpedos.
